As a business owner, it's important to take time away from the day-to-day to step back, reflect, and continue learning. When entrepreneur and author Dan Martell hosted a book meetup in Kelowna recently, I made the time to attend — and I’m glad I did.
Learning from Leaders
Dan’s book, Buy Back Your Time, focuses on how business owners can scale their work sustainably by building strong systems, teams, and habits. The evening offered practical advice for managing time, leading effectively, and creating space to grow — lessons that are relevant whether you’re in tech, trades, or anything in between.
It was a good reminder that personal and professional development go hand in hand, and that taking time to improve as a leader ultimately improves the service we deliver to our clients.

What This Means for Oz-Man Plumbing
At Oz-Man Plumbing, our focus has always been on doing quality work and earning the trust of our clients. But as the business grows, it’s just as important to build a company that runs well behind the scenes — so we can continue offering reliable, responsive service across Kelowna, Vernon, Lake Country, and the North Okanagan.
Attending events like this helps shape how we approach hiring, scheduling, communication, and long-term planning. It’s all part of our commitment to doing better, building smarter, and supporting our community with confidence.
Thanks to Dan Martell for the insight and energy. It was time well spent — and a reminder that showing up to learn is always worth it.
